It's time to get sort of civilized and have a car that performs better than it did back in 1969. Sloppy steering, unpredictable handling characteristics, moderate braking is a thing of the past. The time has come to break the bank and start a G-Machine \ Pro Touring build. I'm actually going to call it Rat Touring.  Powered by a BBC is key. I'd like an LS due to their civility to make big power and idle and get 26MPG, but that's not really what I was after. Maybe the next motor will be an LS. I really just prefer the uncivilized nature of a carbureted rat for nostalgic reasons.  Here's a before and after picture of the build. Notice the huge suspension drop.

A Moser 12 Bolt and updated Kore3 12" rear brakes are planned for next.  So much for retirement.

The painful part of disassembly is removing good stock stuff - trying to find homes for half this stuff is nutz. The scrap pile is looking pretty good right about now with my limited garage storage. Lucky for me a found a young gearhead willing to use the stuff on his 68. Tons of shinny new parts are on the way and the new build is going to consist of the following:

Speed Tech Performance Pro Touring Suspension  which consist of Upper \ Lower control Arms and QA1 Coilovers (550Lbs) and Speed Tech Performance ATS AFX Aluminum Spindles - Why be stock? Their site is www.speedtechperformance.com

Kore3 Industries C5 \ C6 325MM Big Brake kit. I've opted for the Red C5 calipers with the "Corvette" logo - gotta pay tribute to my other favorite car in the garage. If you are doing a similar build call Tobin Knighton at 1-800-357-5467 - the guy is a wealth of knowledge.
