So the reality is I wanted a 540 or 565 just for the shear brute power. The reality is the Aluminum block I wanted would cost more than the complete bottom end. Not a good use of funding for a conversation piece at the local meet. Since this really is just a street car I figured a healthy 496 is plenty potent for Saturday afternoon cruises and shaking the ground on Sunday mornings.

S0 the new parts are finally here - it begins.

Mike Lewis racing Engines did the rotating assembly. The parts looked great and were dead on. Mike and Darlene were a pleasure to deal with and shipping was fast. Not to mention his wry sense of humor kept the conversations lite.

Glenn of Glenn's Machine was equally witty and spot on. He's a funny guy, more so is that his machine work is really clean. He was a pleasure to do business with.

So here's the break out:

One Ebay Gen IV 4 bolt block - Machined by Glenn

Balanced Rotating assembly provided by Lewis Racing engines: SCAT Cast crank 4.250 stoke, SCAT 6.385 Rods, Probe forged 13729 .060 Pistons, Total Seal Rings, and Clevite 77 Bearings.

ARP Bolts, Edelbrock Perform RPM Oval Aluminum heads - #6045, Comp Cams 292H Hydraulic Camshaft.

Summit Racing is providing the rest of the components.
